Poem :: Mocked by the Universe

Insignificant.

Unimportant and puny,

That's what you are,

That's what your problems are,

To this vast Universe.

Even stars shine down,

From billions of years ago,

Mocking, teasing, and flirting, with

Your breaths and soul.

You scream in the dark night-

I'm significant-

A speck of molecules,

Standing alone under the vastness,

Of the constellations and skies.

Together the stars are,

Laughing at you, with their

Twinkling eyes and,

Shining smiles.

You're all alone beneath their splendour,

Unimportant,

Insignificant.
